Anjan
Srivastava... Ministerjee
Our dear Ministerjee is none other than the famous Mr.Wagle
himself, from Kundan Shah's famous television serial Wagle
ki Duniya. From 1967, an integral part of radio and stage,
a well-known member of IPTA (Indian People's Theatre Company),
Anjan Srivastava's brilliance has shone through varied roles
in a plethora of successful films in both Hindi and English,
such as Golmal (Hrishikesh Mukherjee), Loha (Raj N. Sippy),
Salaam Bombay (Mira Nair), Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na (Kundan Shah),
Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (Aziz Mirza) and Damini (Raj Kumar
Santoshi). His outstanding rendition as the central character
of God only Knows, a corrupt politician, is enough evidence
of this veteran actor's multi-hued, matured talent.
Dilip Prabhavalkar…Indra
Dilip Prabhavalkar, one of the finest thespians on Marathi
stage today, encompasses his accomplishments from experimental
stage to professional Marathi theatre, television serials
and films. He had portrayed six different characterisations
in Hasvaphasvi - a laugh riot penned and directed by Prabhavalkar
himself. Hasvaphasvi has been appreciated by all types of
audiences and with 712 performances so far. Also recently
known as Aba in highly popular serial Shriyut Gangadhar Tipre.
He has won Maharashtra State Award for best actor in Marathi
cinema thrice for Chaukat Raja, Sarkarnama, and Ratra Aarambh.
The last one also fetches him the Filmfare award. Also recently
nominated for best actor in a villainous role for Encounter,
a Hindi film for the IIFA and Screen Awards.
Vijoo Khote... Yumraaj
The famous Kaaliya of Sholay, Vijoo Khote has over 350 films
to boast of. And that includes English productions like Perfect
Murder (Ismail Merchant Production), Trying to Grow (A Kennedy
Mellor Production) and Such a Long Journey (A Canadian Production).
An all time favorite of the Bottoms Up team, Vijoo also has
more than 35 television serials to his credit, including hilarious
hits like Zabaan Sambhal Ke and No Problem.
Vihang Nayak... Narad
Another stalwart from Marathi and English stage, Vihang Nayak
is yet another staunch member of the Bottoms Up family. While
his acting and directorial talent on stage has won him several
awards such as Best Director for his experimental play Camp
from The Indian National Theatre; Best actor Natya Darpan
Award; and the unofficial title of 'The darling of the audience'
on English stage for over 15 years; Vihang has gone on to
prove his merit on Marathi and Hindi television as well as
feature films like Main Azaad Hoon, Aakrosh, Raja ko Rani
se Pyaar ho Gaya, Darmiyaan and Takshak.
Sharbani Mukherjee... Menaka
Petit and pretty Sharbani Mukherjee made her debut film a
major blockbuster J.P. Dutta's Border opposite Sunil Shetty.
One film with Priyadarshan in 5 languages released in Tamil
which was a major hit - Snehathiye. Recently released Hindi
feature film produced by Arjun Hingorani and directed by Anil
Sharma with Amit Hingorani, Sunny Deol. Forthcoming releases
Aanch with Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal and directed by Rajesh
Kumar Singh, and one more film Its all about her directed
by Rajesh Kumar Singh. Top of the charts Music Videos like
Nusrat Fateh ali Khan's Piya Re and Shazia Manzoor's Ghar
aaja Soniya.
Kishore Pradhan... Secretary
Kishore Pradhan, his long innings of 30 years as an actor
on stage, films, television and ads has won him the Lifetime
Achievement Award from the Chief Minister of Maharashtra recently.
Better known as the 'Father of Farce' of English and Marathi
stage, Kishore Pradhan is another inherent part of the Bottoms
Up Gang.
Shahriyar Atai... Kamdev
The energetic and boisterous Shahriyar started his acting
career as a child artist in the Magic Lamp on Doordarshan.
His training as an actor began amidst close working relationships
with the gurus of theatre such as Roshan Treasurewallah, Pearl
Padamsee and Alyque Padamsee and resulted in competent performances
in productions like The Wiz, Best of Broadway, Lock up your
Daughter and others.
Vijay Patkar... Yumdoot
An actor in Marathi theatre for the past 20 years, Vijay Patkar
has also excelled as a director in Marathi theatre. As an
actor he has performed brilliantly in films like Tezaab and
Narsimha; his forthcoming films being Raghu and Mudda.
Suresh Menon... Adman
Absolutely and gregariously unputdownable, Suresh Menon is
a born comic. And his role in the films like Badhai ho badhai,
for which he was nominated for Zee Cine awards for comedian,
proves our point. A self- proclaimed clown, Suresh has added
the colours of comic calamity in films like Stumped and Asoka
and television serials like Hasi vo Phasi, Ikke pe ikke .
He is also a radio jockey with Red Fm and an anchor with etc
Channel for the last 4 years.
Benika... Adwoman
Benika, a young vivacious talent who has already proved her
worth in television serials like Kasauti, Ssh-Koi Hai, Bhabhi
and films like Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar (Tanuja Chandra), Humshakl
(Pankaj Parashar) and Escape from Taliban (Ujawal Chatterjee).
She also has in her kitty the plum lead in Rahul Kapoor's
forthcoming movie 'Modh'.
The film also has to its credit cameo roles by stars like
Jackie Shroff, Johnny Lever, musicians Sivamani and Louis
Banks and scintillating dances by Ananya Dutt.
In addition, every minor role in the film has been stunningly
performed by veteran actors from television and stage such
as Dinesh Hingoo, Bharat Dabholkar, Atul Parchure, Atul Kale,
Vinay Apte, Sam Kherawala and others.
Foot tapping music by the internationally famous wizard of
keyboard Louis Banks, assisted by Jatin Das the famed remix
