SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of improving the websites’ appearance on the top on a search engine results. Promotion of a website to increasing the number of backlinks is a SEO tactic i.e. to increase the ranking on search engine results. Statistics state the 42% people find their required content on the first page of the search results and only 11% people look in for the second page.
On-page optimization comprises of various alterations and change in many components on a webpage. Few of them are inclusion of the keywords in the page title, meta description/keywords, header and anchor tags, body text etc. The keywords should be included in all the in-bound and out-bound links. The key words must also be included in the “Alt tag of the images”. The search engine doesn’t search a webpage like humans do. It analyses the HTML code and searches for the keywords there.
This is equivalent to promotion behind the scenes. Backlinking the website on various pages helps. If there are more clicks on your site, it might climb up in the rankings of SEO. Please keep in mind the number and quality of bank-links too; do not spam unnecessarily. People hate spammers. Due to this, SEO can blacklist your website for performing illegal activities.
Both on-page and off-page optimization is important nowadays. But the on-page optimization activities should be completed first and then off-page optimization activities can be concentrated on.
